Her father, Sushil Kumar Batra, is a well-known actor in Bollywood, with roles in films like Pink and Hindi Medium. Her mother is Meena Batra, and she has an elder sister, Shivalika Batra. Sonakshi completed her graduation at Hindu College and the National School of Drama.
She began her career as a child artist, appearing in commercials like Alpenliebe and later lending her voice to shows on Doordarshan and National Geographic Channel. Her acting debut came in the movie 14 Phere (2021), where she played Sneha Karwaskara. She also appeared in TV serials, notably as Manya Mane in Nima Denzongpa and Naaz Kaur Bajwa in Udaariyaan, which brought her significant recognition.
